Rihanna vs Chris Brown

As i was reading through my email i came across an article about Chris Brown and Rihanna. The article talked about how Chris Brown came back too soon after the incident between him and Rihanna. The article mentioned how her career is setting off while his is sinking. I really believe it is true because maybe if Chris would have taken time off then the incident between the pop star and him would be cooler to his audience as well as to hers. People wouldnt really remember what exactly happened, but would just focus on a new hit, for example.

The Bachelor

The other day when i was watching the Bachelor, I got very into it because it had a lot of drama between the bachelor and one of the contestants. One of the contestants was faced between choosing to stay at the show or leave home to go back to work. I then began figuring out that the TV show is most likely going to bring her back later in the season to create more drama and of course for more ratings.

It was like a figuring out a puzzle, once you figure out where everything goes then you know what the outcome will be. Is this what all Tv shows are tyring to do to get more ratings? Also when i was watching Live with Regis and Kelly, they also began concluding that the contestant that would be leaving would be bound to reappear in the end.

Gay Stereotypes

The conversation we had about gay stereotypes got me thinking about all the stereotypes that you hear out there. I for one have a friend who thinks that just because a gay person is around, automatically that guy is going to try to hit on him. Also, I for example have 2 gay friends and as soon as they want to hangout with me, people automatically assume that that person likes me, as something more than a friend.

I have came to the conclusion that people have just believed so much in these stereotypes that by some coincidence they have turned out true.

The Oscars

As we were having a conversation about the Oscars in class, I realized that the Oscars are in a way intended for a more older age group. I remember one day when i was excited to watch them because the commercials seem to make it exciting. Although, when i was watching them i realized that they are so boring and slow. All that interested me was the clothes that the actors/actresses were wearing, but other than that, i decided to change it to something else.

Obviously the people that organize the Oscars use catchy commercials to get people to watch them, but once you watch them, they can get pretty time consuming and not as exciting as other award shows such as, the Grammys or MTV awards.

Superbowl!

Everyone is wondering who will be the big winner of the Superbowl. Whether its gonna be the New Orleans Saints or the Indianapolis Colts. It came to my attention how the media is already assuming which team will win and the reasons. I mean how can people know what the outcome of a game will be?

Some people are saying that the Colts will be the champions because of their experience in the Superbowl, on the other hand, others are saying that the Saints will lose because of their non-experience in Superbowl. This message is being sent out by experts in football. I mean this gets peoples attention because all people who are football fans. How can people predict the outcome of a game, I mean it’s undersatnding that people have their team spirit.It will all come down to how both teams play.Let the games begin!

Haiti donations

Hope for Haiti was a live program to earn donations for Haiti. I witnessed this great cause because i watched every minute of it. It was really touching and very emotional. The fact that hundreds of celebrities contributed to such great cause is very great. Just the fact that they would take some of their time to raise money for the helpless in Haiti.
As of Monday January 25, it was said that 57 million dollars were raised. This event was put together by George Clooney, and was seen as a magnificant way to help Haiti after devastation. The way that this got peoples attention was by using celebrities to answer phone calls and actually speak with the donators. Another way that the event attracted people was the fact that the event was televised and was on several channels and in several states.

This occurs everyday

This is something that my got my attention and although it has nothing to do with us, I believe it is of great concern. I heard about this situation by my sister because she was invited to attend the funeral. A man from Juarez, Mexico was shot to death in front of his kids and wife on his way to work. The family is devastated because first of all they lost a husband and a father, but most importantly, probably nothing will be done to solve his murder. Juarez is a city where most people get away with committing murders because sometimes it is even the police that commits those acts.

Day after day people get killed in Juarez and nobody does anything about it, noone sees anything, or so they say. This situation has shocked me because that man who was killed was the husband of one of my cousins. It is shocking to know that nobody will be punished for such crime. Yea sometimes the news about killings in Juarez appears in the local news of california, but sometimes the U.S doesnt report on it because it happens so often that who wants to see the same thing everyday. The local news from Juarez has already interpreted his death as maybe something related to narcs.

Disaster

The disaster that occurred in Haiti has affected thousands. It is a traggic mother nature cause. It is a very important topic because many people are affected by it. It has affected people worldwide because of how helpless people in Haiti probably are. Their are signs everywhere asking people to donate money or anything that can be useful for the people of Haiti.

There are also troops from the U.S. going to help rescue people that can probably be found under the collapsed structures. The message is being sent out as a voice for help for the people of Haiti.

USC coach resignation

USC coach, Pete Carroll resigned to his position as the coach for the football team. His decision comes of no surprise to many people being that the reason that he resigned was to coach for the Seattle seahawks for the NFL. Therefore, he will get paid better than coaching for USC. The resignation is very important probably to those that are fans of football or even just specifically fans of USC.

The official resignation of the coach was made publicly on television. Although, to some people the news can be of disappointment because coach Carroll led the USC football team to a winning streak. Some might believe that without coach Carroll the team might not continue that streak. The way that the resignation was brought to our attention was that the decision was made publicly on television.
